WHY CITRUS?

We believe our citrus based cleaner is a healthier, more effective way to protect your carpet and furniture. It has the ability to maintain the appearance of carpet and furniture and at the same time minimize the allergens in the carpet. Our CitruSolution, when combined with an antimicrobial has provided relief from allergy symptoms for many of our clients. Mold and mildew particulates can be reduced and dust mite residue can be lessened.

HOW DOES IT CLEAN?

CitruSolution is a cleaning solvent with a twist of lemon, orange and grapefruit. Our cleaner is powered by citrus cleaning agents extracted from the citrus peel. You take your fine clothes to the cleaners to avoid damage by soap and water; we use CitruSolution for the same reason. The citrus is very effective against grease and soils and fights yellowing and oxidation that can dull your carpet. It cleans and treats your carpet fiber without leaving a sticky residue behind.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I CLEAN?

We recommend cleaning carpet at least once a year. The EPA recommends cleaning carpet every 6 months, if you have small children that spend time on the carpets.

IS YOUR CARPET DIRTY?

YES. Consider your carpet only as clean as the last public restroom floor you walked on! Ask a carpet installer how much dirt he cleans up after he has taken out the old carpet and how much heavier the old carpet was. The additional weight is the soil that is migrating through the fiber and backing. Does carpet cleaning of ANY kind

get out ALL the dirt? NO! But the CitruSolution process cleans the carpet fibers without forcing the soil beneath the backing and into the padding. CitruSolution stays within the nap of the carpet and leaves a citrus barrier

between you and the soils, allergens and bacteria migrating through your carpet.

ASTHMA? ALLERGIES?

WATCH FOR YOURSELF! After we have cleaned your carpet it may be educational to watch for changes in respiratory symptoms for a month or so. If this happens in your household, this may be an indicator of potential sources of irritants. Many of our clients then have us treat their carpet with an antimicrobial with the next cleaning. Only you know how you feel. Try to learn what helps your home and respond accordingly.

Most Americans spend 90% of their time indoors. Levels of pollutants may be 200% to 500% higher indoors than outdoors, even in cities with a lot of air pollution. The indoor air is full of harmful pollutants. Dust mites thrive on this gunk deep down in the carpet. It is invisible to the eye, but very apparent to lungs and arteries. Every time someone walks across the carpet, the pollutants are released into the air. It can stay airborne for an hour or more, so that the average home will always have these particulates in the air. This is why we believe carpet cleaning is foremost a health issue, secondarily an appearance issue. We recommend disposable electrostatic air filters in your home. You may try running your central air fans on manual to increase air filtration. Filters should be changed every 2 to 3 months. If someone in your household has allergies or other respiratory problems, we recommend you use a vacuum with multiple filters, including a Hepa filter. We now use a Lindhaus Healthpro Vacuum for all of our work because of its efficiency and super filtration system.

WHAT IS D-LIMONENE?

A Cleaner from nature! D-Limonene, the oil extracted from lemon and orange rinds or solids, is a major component of Citrusolution. The rinds and pulp are sent to an evaporator and the D-Limonene is steamed out. It is widely known for its pleasant scent and degreasing properties. D-Limonene is currently being used in many applications such as chlorinated solvent replacements, hand cleaners and sewage treatments.

THE ENVIRONMENTALLY SAFE SOLVENT.

Since D-Limonene solvent is extracted from natural resources, e.g. orange and lemon rinds and peels, the solvent does not add any materials into the environment than what would naturally occur. Therefore, it does not contain any ozone depleting chemicals. Using naturally derived solvents such as cleaning agents, is an excellent source in reduction. D-Limonene is biodegradable too, an important issue for water treatment plants.
